چکیده

Al/SiC functionally graded and metal-matrix composites were investigated through dynamic mechanical analyzer as a function of vibrating frequencies. It was found that internal frictions strongly dependent on material type frequency. Tan ? reached 30.4 × 10–3 21.2 10–3in FGM MMC, respectively, at frequency 1 Hz. The damping capacity decreased the increased to 10 Hz 30 Storage moduli 172 GPa 144 for FGMs MMCs, Similar ?, storage both materials more sensitive change higher temperatures. In general, capacities observed in compared MMCs.

Transient Internal Damping in Metal Matrix Composites : Experiment and Theory

In this presentation, frst, the Internal Damping (I.D.) phenomena and related theories that have been previously reported in the literature for Metal Matrix Composites (M.M.C.s) are reviewed briefly. Then, the paper is focused on the transient ID phenomena. Especially, it is shown that a broad Iow temperature peak appears in the low frequency internal damping (ID) spectra of aluminium based mic...

Mechanical and Tribological Behavior of Aluminum Alloy LM13 Reinforced with Titanium Dioxide Metal Matrix Composites

In the present research work physical, mechanical and tribological behavior of Aluminum (Al) alloy LM13 reinforced with Nano-sized Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) particulates were fabricated, mechanical and tribological properties were investigated. The amount of nano TiO2 particulates in the composite was added from 0.5% to 2% in 0.5 weight percent (wt %) increments. The Al-LM13-TiO2 Metal Matrix Com...

Vertically Reinforced 1-3 Piezoelectric Composites for Active Damping of Functionally Graded Plates

M ONOLITHIC piezoelectric materials (PZTs) have been widely used as distributed sensors and actuators for developing smart structures with self-monitoring and selfcontrolling capabilities [1–10]. However, their major drawback is low control authority as the magnitude of their electromechanical coefficients is very small. The situation can be improved by using an active constrained layer damping...
